Mackenzie Scott in second divorce in three years

Billionaire philanthropist and ex-wife of Jezz Bezos, Mackenzie Scott has filed for her second divorce, just a year after marrying her second husband Dan Jewett.

Scott, who was married to Bezos for 25 years and secured one of the largest settlements in U.S history when they divorced in 2019.

During the divorce, she received a reported $38 billion after details of Bezos’ relationship with a TV personality came to light.

Scott announced soon after that she would be giving away a sizable portion of her fortune and has since donated an estimated $12 billion to various charities.

While it’s difficult to make clear comparisons, it’s believed that this is a record amount for just a few years and she has indicated she’s far from finished just yet.

Yet while she seems to be doing fine financially, her love life has once again hit the buffers and after just a year of marriage to Dan Jewett, the couple is thought to be divorcing.

Scott married Jewett, a science teacher at a private Seattle school, back in March 2021 and was announced in a statement on their pages of the Giving Pledge.

It’s thought that Scott’s children attended the school at which Jewett teaches and this was how the two first met.

The couple has not officially confirmed the divorce, but Jewett’s profile has been removed from her Giving Pledge page leading to widespread speculation.
